On Wednesday (local time), US President Donald Trump accepted Tesla CEO Elon Musk's apology for his remarks, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. In her media briefing, Leavitt stated that the government has begun to concentrate on the affairs of the American people since the incident.

"The President acknowledged the statement that Elon put out this morning and he is appreciative of it, and we are continuing to focus on the business of the American people," she said.

Leavitt responded that as of right now, no review of Musk's government contract has begun by the administration, despite the President stating that he is considering doing so.

"Currently have no efforts have been made on that front as far as I'm aware," she said.

"I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week," Musk wrote in a post on X on Wednesday. They overreached themselves.

According to CNN, Musk called Trump on Monday night, expressing regret for some of his remarks about the President on social media during their highly publicized outburst last week. The brief conversation with the president followed a phone call on Friday between Musk, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and Vice President JD Vance, during which the three discussed the conflict between Trump and the tech billionaire, two people familiar with the conversation told CNN.

For the past week, prominent Trump supporters and Republican lawmakers have been subtly contacting Musk to urge him to back his domestic policy bill and make amends with the President. Many of Trump's top advisors had developed personal ties with the tech billionaire during Musk's tenure as his "first buddy," and they relied on these connections to try to win Musk back after the two men's tumultuous public split.

These Trump supporters have attempted to defuse the conflict and clarify the need for what Trump refers to as his "Big Beautiful Bill," which is facing obstacles in the Senate, by texting and calling Musk. According to people familiar with these exchanges, Musk was open to outreach but continued to protest that the bill did not cut spending enough.
