India's leading fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, is facing uncertainty regarding his participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy due to a back injury sustained during the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in January.

Following the injury, Bumrah underwent scans and is now set to commence rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is closely monitoring his progress and has yet to make a final decision on his inclusion in the Champions Trophy squad.

The BCCI is expected to make a final decision on Bumrah's participation in the Champions Trophy after assessing his rehabilitation progress. The team management is hopeful but cautious, given the importance of Bumrah's role in the squad.

In the event that Bumrah is unable to participate, the selection committee has shortlisted potential replacements. Among the frontrunners is Harshit Rana, a promising young fast bowler who has impressed in domestic cricket.

The Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin on February 19, with India's first match against Bangladesh on February 20. The team management is keen to finalize the squad soon to ensure adequate preparation time.
